Privacy Policy

5-Out Values Your Privacy

5-Out requires access to some of your restaurant’s sensitive data to perform properly.  This can include sales information, labor and purchasing information, employee names and contact info, and overall business financials.  5-Out takes your privacy seriously.  Below is a list of the data we collect and our commitment to your privacy.

What Information Do We Collect:

We collect information in three ways: restaurant information provided to us for the purposes of onboarding and using the software, personal information users voluntarily provide to us in the course of using the platform, and data automatically collected during interaction with the platform.

Restaurant Data:

5-Out requires and/or is enriched by access to basic restaurant sales, labor, purchasing, and financial data.  This includes:

  • Point of sale data
  • Labor actual data
  • Labor schedule data
  • COGS purchasing data
  • Inventory data
  • Recipe data
  • Vendor data
  • Financial data

Personal Information:

By personally using the platform, or participating in the labor schedule of a restaurant that uses the platform, your personal data may be supplied to us.  This includes:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number

Automatically Collected Information:

By accessing or using the platform, certain data about you may be collected.  This includes:

  • The user agent, IP address, browser, and device information regarding your visit
  • Your behavior on the platform, including pages you visit and time spent on each page

We use this information to monitor platform usage and improve performance across a broad spectrum of devices.

Using Your Information

The 5-Out platform requires access to some or all of the data listed above to function properly.  The data will be used by our platform to forecast sales, generate budgets, monitor spend, notify users of spend to budgets, suggest labor schedules, suggest purchasing behavior, and report back overall financial performance.

Disclosing Your Information

5-Out will not disclose your individual data to any third party, under any circumstances.  Aggregated data and trends, defined as 5 or more restaurants across 5 or more distinct customers, where a customer is a single entity relationship, may be used for marketing and other purposes.  This minimum level of aggregation has been specifically selected to safeguard the anonymity of our customers and protect their data.

Storing Your Information

5-Out uses the latest industry encryption standards (AES-256) to protect all customer data within the platform. Customer data is segregated in the database for additional security, and is secured behind a firewall (VPC) that is only accessible to 5-Out integrations and web services.

Communication with our web platform is secured during transit using SSL (TLS 1.3) encryption to protect your information during use of the platform.

Protecting Your Information

5-Out takes reasonable precautions to monitor the security of the data protections we have put in place, and will notify customers within 5 days of any identified potential breach of our systems that may impact customer data.
